ALDI, a growing grocery store company known for its fresh and organic foods and discount prices, opened to large crowds today at Town Center Marketplace in Menifee.
Customers were lined up well into the parking lot at the 9 a.m. opening time. By early afternoon, the store was still packed with shoppers looking for fresh produce, meat, various grocery items and deals in ALDI’s popular “ALDI Finds” section in the middle of the store.
Jim Taylor, director of store operations, called the ALDI Finds section a sort of “treasure hunt,” where popular brand items are on display in the center aisles and rotated as new specials come in. He said ALDI also offers a double guarantee on items, in which customers not satisfied can return for a replacement item and a refund.
“Smart shoppers have been able to count on us for quality products,” Taylor said about ALDI, which has been in business since 1976 and advertises savings of up to 50 percent on items. “We’re excited by the quality of products we have, and we’re real excited to be in this area.”
The Menifee store is located at 30163 Haun Road in the new Town Center Marketplace. Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
